Developer Soulframe is listening to your feedback on combat and social features.
Warframe developer Digital Extremes has shared with us another look at its upcoming free-to-play fantasy MMORPG Soulframe.
In a new stream of developers, Digital Extremes offered an updated version of the pre-alpha version known as Preludes, both in its current form and a “look at future Preludes.”
Creative director Jeff Crooks also noted how important community feedback is to development, saying that “community feedback will always be our north star.”
“Since we started giving players the opportunity to get Soulframe earlier this year during our pre-alpha tests, things have been going great,” Crooks said. “We’ve always had a bigger vision for what we want Soulframe to be, but community feedback will always be our north star.
“This community feedback is shaping a customized roadmap of changes to make and focus on in our current pre-alpha for virtually every aspect of the game as we prepare it for full public release,” Crooks added. “We’re hearing feedback about combat and the lack of social features, so as you’ll notice, those elements become a major priority for us as we add new things like social hubs.”
To find out more, you can check out the teaser above, which shows off the player’s social hub and some new quests, as well as introducing some new NPCs (thanks, PC Gamer).
“Even as Ode’n’s shadow spreads across Alka, the future is bright for Soulframe: Preludes, messengers! Enjoy a preview of what’s to come in Preludes in 2025,” DE teases in the description.
Back in July 2022, Digital Extremes revealed its first new property since the release of Warframe in 2013. However, aside from a 30-minute gameplay teaser this time last year, we haven’t seen much yet. However, back in July at TennoCon 2024, we finally got our first extended look at it.
Soulframe will be Digital Extremes’ first new game in over five years, following on from 2017’s short-lived team-based first-person shooter The Amazing Eternals.
