- This is a simple tower defense game where you have to fight against incoming slimes.
- Collect energy, unlock new weapons and so on.
Sometimes it’s nice to have something simple to play with. No frills, no innovations, just an addition to the genre. And, for better or worse, today’s topic of Blob Attack: Tower Defense is about exactly that. Single developers Stanislav Buchkov came to us, let’s find out what they have to offer.
There’s not much to say about it as this one-man game is already available on the iOS App Store and it does all the things you’d expect in the genre. Build your towers, collect energy and unlock new, more powerful weapons to fight your enemies.
In this case, it’s the seemingly rather fashionable slime balls that we’ve seen plague adventurers in Dragon Quest and are increasingly a hallmark of the fantasy genre. But behind every positive moment, of course, there must be a cloud.
A bit of an artistic challenge
I think the only thing that really struck me about Blob Attack was, unfortunately, the presence of AI images on the store page and (I assume) in the game. It’s also a shame because while Blob Attack looks simple, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing, but this type of art really prevents me from giving it the chance it so richly deserves.
Looking at some of the developer’s other work on the app store, it’s clear that this is something of a through line, and it’s a shame because their other work, such as Dungeon Craft (a pixel RPG), could have been good if it weren’t for this hidden during all this. baked from a computer algorithm.
But if you’re willing to listen to our opinion, we believe we have other options for you. Why not check out the latest Off the AppStore post to see what you can play on other third-party stores?
