Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2 is here, with notes for the new updates.
As promised, update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 is here, bringing with it a host of new features and fixes for CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi RPG. Tuesday’s update comes four years to the day Cyberpunk 2077This is an original (extremely glitchy) release that gives players new character customization options, new photo mode features, and other gameplay improvements.
Cyberpunk 2077Update 2.2 came as something of a surprise, as developer CD Projekt Red stated that the game’s previous patch, released in December 2023, would be the game’s “last major update.” But CD Projekt Red has since turned to another developer, Virtuos, to help continue development of the game, the studio said in a livestream on Tuesday.
This livestream focuses on the changes coming in Update 2.2, but there are a few highlights for players who don’t have time to watch all 44 minutes. Many of the larger changes are cosmetic; players can now use the CrystalCoat paint on a wider range of vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077 and they can copy other cars’ color schemes on the fly using TwinTone technology. Here’s how the new TwinTone feature works, according to CDPR’s patch notes:
Simply scan your vehicle using Kiroshi optics, switch to the TWINTONE™ tab, and save your vehicle’s color scheme for a small fee. You will then be able to select a design from the TWINTONE™ database from the CrystalCoat™ menu. There you will also find common color schemes for all CrystalCoat™ compatible vehicles, as well as unique color schemes exclusive to the vehicle model they were copied from. Please note that color scheme cloning is not permitted for quest-related, NCPD-owned or non-CrystalCoat™ compatible vehicles.
Cyberpunk 2077The character creator also gets a ton of new customization options, including:
Other changes in update 2.2 include additional time with Johnny Silverhand, who will sometimes relax in the passenger seat of your car, as well as numerous photo mode features requested by the community.
