Lego Fortnite Brick Life is a new social game mode that’s a bit like The Sims.
Epic Games has announced Lego Fortnite’s second major mode, Brick Life, coming to the main Fortnite game on December 12th.
The arrival of Lego Fortnite Brick Life means that the original Lego Fortnite game mode, which launched last December, is getting a slight rebrand to Lego Fortnite Odyssey.
So what does the new Brick Life offer? Well, it’s described as a social experience set in an ever-evolving city where you can hang out with others, get a job (courier! professor! sushi chef! fortune teller! scoundrel!) and build a house out of Lego.
The Lego components for your home will come from the decor sets and builds you’ve already unlocked in Lego Fortnite.
Meanwhile, the updated Lego Fortnite Odyssey has a lot of new things. The mode’s latest update, Storm Chasers, adds a new village to build with new allies and storms that attack until you defeat the Storm Dungeon at their center.
These dungeons, which will move around the map, seem to be an attempt to provide more new experiences every day you play. Storm Dungeons will be reformed in 24 hours, as will the boss behind it all: the Storm King.
I’ve always felt that, aside from village progression, Lego Fortnite lacks a proper ending. Now, just like the Ender Dragon in Minecraft, this mode has a final boss that you can work towards becoming strong enough to defeat.
New vehicles in the update include a water barge, new items include a healing drink launcher, and NPCs can now revive you after being defeated.
Other welcome improvements include increased melee attack range, reduced stamina consumption, and another increase in the size of your inventory.
Earlier today, we reported on leaks that suggest virtual pop star Hatsune Miku will be heading to Fortnite in 2025.
