Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 adds new “secrets,” enhanced customization options, and more.
Just a day after piqued fans’ curiosity with the surprise announcement that a new Cyberpunk 2077 update was coming soon, developer CD Projekt has revealed exactly what it contains, including expanded customization options and new photo mode features. And released him into the wild.
Cyberpunk 2077’s new 2.2 update may not be as feature-rich as the surprisingly substantial 2.1 update released last December, but it still brings a number of great new features, fixes, and quality of life improvements – certainly more than you’d typically expect from games. development of which officially ended seven months ago.
In terms of customization, players can now customize the livery of a range of vehicles using CrystalCoat technology, previously only available on Rayfield vehicles, while the Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra and Villefort are now compatible. Additionally, Cyberpunk 2077 now features a vehicle color cloning feature (officially known as TWINTONE), so players can save color changes made to one vehicle and apply them elsewhere.
In other car-related news, 10 more “most wanted” cars have been added for purchase via Autofixer (as detailed in the patch notes below), and players can now see Johnny Silverhand appear in the passenger seat to comment or react to their actions – after completing Act 1.
Customization options have also been expanded on the player side, with update 2.2 introducing new eye and nail colors, new face and body tattoos, new eyebrow shapes, facial scars, cosmetic cyberware options for the face, and makeup types for cheeks, eyes, and lips. . Additionally, the randomizer in the character editor now includes a Plain-to-Punk slider, which does almost exactly what it sounds like.
And once you’ve customized your car or your V to your liking, you can record it for posterity using the enhanced Photo Mode features. These include the ability to create up to three NPCs to shoot, the ability to create and adjust light sources, increased camera range, a new effect intensity slider, a change to allow the drone’s camera to move freely, and various feature toggles. . You can also now display your favorite photos in V’s apartments by interacting with photo frames.
And that’s not all for Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2. It also introduces a whole host of fixes and quality of life improvements, and most intriguingly, “even more secrets to discover in Night City.” Looks like it’s time to hit the streets and hunt down some Witcher 4 teasers, with the game now officially in “full production.”
Today’s Cyberpunk 2077 update, developed in collaboration with Virtuos and now available for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, comes ahead of the game’s release on Apple computers next year. You can learn more about its new features by watching the developer video above or checking out the patch notes below.
New features
- Rayfield’s CrystalCoat™ technology, originally developed only for Rayfield vehicles, has now been adopted by other vehicle manufacturers. You can now change the color of Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra and Villefort cars. Pro tip: Use CrystalCoat™ to fool cops and lower your NCPD wanted rate!
- Kiroshi presents TWINTONE™! As CrystalCoat™ continues to gain popularity, TWINTONE™ takes your paint job to the next level. Simply scan your vehicle using Kiroshi optics, switch to the TWINTONE™ tab, and save your vehicle’s color scheme for a small fee. You will then be able to select a design from the TWINTONE™ database from the CrystalCoat™ menu. There you will also find common color schemes for all CrystalCoat™ compatible vehicles, as well as unique color schemes exclusive to the vehicle model they were copied from. Please note that color scheme cloning is not permitted for quest-related, NCPD-owned or non-CrystalCoat™ compatible vehicles.
- All CrystalCoat™ and TWINTONE™ compatible vehicles are marked with an aerosol can icon on Autofixer.
