Walkthrough of the quest “Ancient Oaths” in Path of Exile 2
“Ancient Vows” – this is a quest in the second act Path of Exile 2 you are tasked with finding a mysterious relic, although you are given only one vague instruction: “Find a use for the relic.”
The Ancient Vows quest will send you on a hunt across the Act 2 Vastiri Plains in search of the missing half of the relic. The only problem is that the quest doesn’t tell you where to find it, how to get it, or even that it exists. In addition, you will need to find a place to store the relics. But there is also a positive side: for completing the quest you will receive a permanent bonus!

Stages of the quest “Ancient Oaths” in POE2
The Ancient Vows are clearly broken down into four stages:
- Start the Ancient Vows quest by collecting a Kabal Clan Relic or a Sun Clan Relic.
- Collect the missing relic of the two.
- Return the relics to the altar found in the Valley of the Titans.
- Choose one of two buffs.

Ancient Oaths Relic Locations in POE2
To complete the quest “Ancient Oaths” you will need two relics: the Cabal Clan and the Sun Clan. You’ve already found one to start the quest, so you only need to find the second one. Both relics can be found randomly from enemies, but they are on two different maps.

How to Use Ancient Vows Relics in POE2

After you have collected the Cabal Clan Relic and the Sun Clan Relic, head to Waypoint “Valley of the Titans”. Near the waypoint you will find a medallion that seems to fit both relics. Place both relics in the medallion to complete the quest and receive the buff of your choice.
If you’re having trouble placing relics inside the medallion because it keeps disappearing, go to Settings and switch to the Interface tab. Scroll down and turn on the Always Highlight setting to keep the medallion on the screen when you drag relics from your inventory.
Keep in mind that this setting will highlight items on the ground for you, so your screen may get a little cluttered if you leave it on!
Which Ancient Vows buff should you choose?

Once you have successfully placed the relics into the medallion, you will need to choose one of two power-ups:
- 30% increased Charm Charges gained
- 15% increased Mana Recovery from Flasks
These buffs can work with any class, but their value will vary depending on your build. For example, if you often run out of mana, mana regeneration may be more suitable for you. Increased charm charges can work for those who are able to consistently withstand a certain type of damage. For example, Infernalists can convert cold and lightning damage taken into fire damage taken, so boosting enchantment charges and ruby enchantments can work well.
Overall, pick a buff that best suits your build, and if you ever want to change it, you can teleport back to the Valley of the Titans point and change your buff for free.
