How to disable easy swing in Marvel Rivals

Slight swingand similar automatic swingare the default settings in Marvel Rivals which automate the leveling abilities of certain characters. Used I And Spider-Man accordingly, they allow for automatic swing mechanics… which also turns out to be quite inaccurate and cumbersome.

In this Marvel Rivals guide, we’ll explain how these abilities work and tell you how to disable easy rocking (and automatic swing).

What is an easy turn (and auto turn) in Marvel Rivals?

Light Swing is a Venom ability that simplifies the character’s Venom Sweep ability, causing him to automatically shoot a web or tendril and hold onto a physical point to secure the swing. (Spider-Man has essentially the same settings for his Web Swing ability, but it’s called Auto Swing.)

This is a quality feature for newbies as it allows new players to get where they need to go without having to look up or around and do quick math.

The problem with easy rotation (and auto rotation) is that the computer tends to pick weird places for your web, and it’s unpredictable. This means that trying to accurately navigate the map as Spider-Man or Venom is nearly impossible with these settings enabled.

Enabling light and automatic swing means your character will shoot his web/tendril where you aim. While this makes whiffing much easier (Venom Swing and Web-Swing abilities don’t recharge if you miss), it also means you can aim for the exact spot on the wall you want to swing from, allowing you to set up short and fast or long wobble with slight mouse adjustments.

How to Disable Easy Swing and Auto Swing in Marvel Rivals

Because both easy turn and automatic turn character settingsthe fastest way to disable them is to load into the training ground as Venom or Spider-Man. (You can disable settings without actually playing like spider friends, but it’s a good idea to practice with them while you’re here).

Open the settings menu and select an input method (keyboard or controller). Select “combat” submenu. At the top of the settings you should see a bar that says “all heroes” and a yellow box next to “switch hero” next to the picture of who you’re playing as. Either select the yellow box or click the “all heroes” button and select Spider-Man or Venom.

For both Spider-Man and Venom, you’ll find options for easy and automatic rotation into hero of the subsection. Turn on light deflection for Venom or auto deflection for Spider-Man to improve your swing.

There is one more option you should check before you leave the training ground: hold on to swing. By default, you’ll press the rotate button to turn around, and then press it again to release. Some players find the default setting a little clunky, while enabling hold to swing ensures you keep swinging while the button is pressed and releases you once you release it. Incorporating a hold for your swing can really speed up your swing, so check this out while you’re in the practice arena.
