  • Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the latest mobile exclusive to return to the eSports World Cup.
  • They will be presented again in the second part of the competition in 2025.
  • Selangor Red Giants won gold this year.

With the 2024 Esports World Cup seemingly a resounding, or at least huge, success, many publishers have confirmed the return of their top games in 2025. Garena’s Free Fire has already confirmed its return, and now Moonton’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. confirmed joining the team.

The Esports World Championship will feature two events, which were announced by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The MLBB Mid Season Cup and MLBB Women’s Invitational saw teams from regions around the world travel to Riyadh to compete.

At MSC Selangor Red Giants took home gold and the Women’s Invitational won the Smart Omega Empress, defeating Team Vitality, who up to this point boasted an unbroken winning streak of 25 consecutive championships dating back to 2021.

Yes

Big, but big enough?

Apparently, almost all previously presented games from the Esports World Cup will return. However, despite all their power, I can’t help but notice that very few, if any, of them host truly major competitions.

For example, the MLBB’s main event is the mid-season cup, which seems to indicate to fans that the Esports World Cup is being treated more like a side show than a main event. Which can be perceived as both good and bad. Good in the sense that it means the EWC doesn’t overshadow the existing leagues, but bad in the sense that it can be seen as simply playing a second banana after the main event.

Either way, fans will be thrilled to see so many people returning for this brilliant tournament.

And if this has inspired you to give MLBB a try, be sure to check out which characters in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang rank highest in our own rankings!
