Provenance app launches on iOS to give you all the nostalgic arcade amenities you want on mobile
- Supports a wide range of systems
- Custom metadata
- In-app purchases include subscriptions
In case you missed it, developer Joseph Mattiello has launched a new emulator for mobile devices called Provenance App, offering a multi-emulator iOS and tvOS interface that will help you play your favorite childhood games from times long gone. Nostalgia is a huge factor when it comes to the old-school experience, and this iOS emulator seems to know that for sure.
With the Provenance app you can turn back the clock and relive the glory days on Sega, Sony, Atari, Nintendo, Atari systems and more. While you’ll never be able to go back to simpler times in real life, you can at least return to vintage arcade adventures from the comfort of your own home and in the palm of your hand.
Mobile emulators aren’t exactly new, but it never hurts to have more options to choose from when it comes to oldies but goodies.
This one in particular even features a full-page view of the game’s metadata, where you can happily look at all the release data you’ll ever need, as well as the box art to really bring in the nostalgia. It also seems like you can even replace the text and images with your own data, adding a little extra fun.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for more of an old-school vibe, why not take a look at our list of the best retro games for iOS to get your fill?
In the meantime, if you want to join in on all the fun, you can do so by heading over to the Provenance app in the App Store. This is a free game with in-app purchases.
