Drecom announces new release with Hungry Meem
- Developer Drecom, creators of Wizardry Variants: Daphne, have announced a new release.
- Hungry Meem appears to still be in stealth mode, but some details have emerged.
- The full presentation will take place sometime this month.
We rarely get a truly cryptic announcement these days, as most major developers and publishers are too eager to play their part quickly. However, sometimes smaller companies use intrigue to their advantage; as is the case with Drecom and their teaser for their latest release!
While it’s unclear what platform it will be on or what Hungry Meem is actually about, a teaser site has already launched and shows strange creatures hanging around a tree stump. A full reveal, or even release, appears to be coming later this month on January 15th.
Those of you with a keen eye will recognize Drecom from the Wizardry Variants: Daphne they released on mobile late last year. That, and their work on the long-running hit One Piece: Treasure Cruise!
Feeling hungry?
However, I’m now faced with the only problem with this kind of cryptic ad: there’s actually very little that can be done there. I’d venture to guess that this will appear on mobile devices purely due to the advertising tactic of asking people to press a button on X, given that pressing the button doesn’t have the same effect.
Meanwhile, in terms of gameplay? Maybe a creature collector or someone in AR needs to “catch ’em all.” We’ll just have to see when we hopefully get a full announcement later this month. Given that Drecom seems content to experiment, I’d hope for at least some surprises.
