New Rogue Frontier update for Albion Online coming early next month

Have you ever thought that in the world of the popular multi-platform free-to-play MMORPG Albion Online there are not enough scammers and crime? Well, don’t worry, because developer Sandbox Interactive has heard your prayers and has prepared a whole host of new dastardly endeavors in the new Rogue Frontier update!

As you might expect from the title, the Rogue Frontier update introduces a new faction: the Smugglers. These rogue criminals are offering new “Smuggler’s Den” for individual and small players to build their bases, as well as a “Smuggler’s Network” for a new interconnected market throughout Outland. All this and much more will appear on February 3rd!

Naturally, if you team up with the Smugglers, you’ll also be involved in daring new activities, such as rescuing your fellow outlaws or delivering packages across the Outlands. And with three new Crystal weapons, kill trophies to show off your skills, and more, it might be worth keeping your head down!

I think adding a new faction that caters more towards those who want to avoid conflict and go into hiding is a good choice. When it comes to base building or resource gathering, I often like to stay on the sidelines in things like Albion Online, but too often there’s no real choice unless you’re the kind of person who throws himself headfirst into combat.

So, being able to avoid conflict and use your cowardly ways to make a profit just adds another way to play on that wide-open multiplayer battlefield, at least when February rolls around.
