Riot reveals Mel’s in-game abilities in League of Legends
Secret introduced many original and interesting characters. League of Legends canon, but not all of them are suitable for the battlefield. In Season 2, Mel learned that she had access to powerful magical abilities, which played an important role in the final battle in Piltover.
Now she will come to League of Legends as the new champion, coinciding with the season taking place in her home country of Noxus. Riot revealed Mel’s abilities on Thursday, and it looks like she’ll be a powerful battle mage.
Passive skill – Burning Glitter.
Each time Mel uses an ability, she gains three bonus projectiles on her next attack, up to a maximum of nine.
When Chalk deals damage with an ability or attack, she will apply Suppression, which builds up damage that allows her to execute an enemy. If Mel deals enough Overwhelm damage to an enemy to kill them, the stacks will be spent on executing them.
Q – Shining Volley
Chalk fires a barrage of projectiles that explode around the targeted location, repeatedly damaging enemies in the area.
W – Refutation
Mel increases her movement speed, forms a barrier around herself that reflects enemy projectiles back at the attacker and prevents damage.
E – Sun Trap
Chalk fires a glowing orb that immobilizes enemies in the center, deals damage over time, and slows the area around it.
R – Golden Eclipse
Chalk hits all enemies marked with Suppression, regardless of range, dealing additional damage per stack of Suppression.
Levels of Golden Eclipse increase Overwhelm’s damage.
The fact that Chalk can reflect projectiles back at champions is a game changer, especially since this includes both skillshots like Ash’s Frostbolt and targeted abilities like Syndra’s ultimate.
Mal has embraced her Noxian heritage and is dressed in red and black, the region’s signature colors. However, if you prefer her original design from SecretMel’s starting skin will feature her original design in white and gold.
We can also expect Mel to play a major role in Riot’s upcoming romance. Ambessa: The Wolf’s Chosen. We’ve yet to see how players use Mel in the current metagame, but it’s great to see an alt-media character go through a character arc and rise through the ranks to join him. Leaguehuge list.
