“My Father Lied”: Mesopotamia-Themed Point and Click Game Coming in May

  • My Father Lied will be released on May 30th.
  • Unravel the mystery of your father’s disappearance
  • Kickstarter campaign in development

Writer and director Ahmed Alamin will release his first point-and-click adventure game, My Father Lied, later this year. The solo developer’s flagship title is a narrative point-and-click puzzler inspired by Mesopotamian history.

You’ll play as Hooda, a young woman investigating the disappearance of her father. Although Huda’s father disappeared twenty years ago, she begins to investigate his strange disappearance after learning that she has a brother that her father never told her about.

Alamin initially started the project in partnership with a college classmate. At the time, Alamin served as the narrative designer. However, when the team disbanded, he decided to learn more about game design so he could complete the project himself.

As you play, you’ll use point-and-click mechanics to explore the world around you and solve puzzle after puzzle. Collect images piece by piece, solve codes and much more, while exploring the mesmerizing beauty. Alamin describes My Father Lied as a mixture of The Myst, The Celestial Vault and the literary works of H. P. Lovecraft.

Instead of carefully modeling every aspect of the environment, Alamin took a more creative approach. The title used both 2D and 360-degree imagery, including cutscenes that were created frame by frame. According to the developer, this method allows you to create high-quality graphics that can run on low-cost PCs.

My Father Lied will be available on the App Store, Google Play and PC via Steam from May 30th for $10.99 USD/EUR. You can currently add the point-and-click puzzle adventure to your Steam wishlist. However, pre-registration on mobile devices is not yet available. You can learn more about MY FATHER LIED by following Lunar Games on X, Discord, TikTok or Instagram.
