When it comes to gaming franchises, Final Fantasy hardly needs any introduction. The hit RPG series is available on almost every platform, in multiple iterations, and even in a popular MMORPG! To say it’s Square Enix’s flagship franchise is almost an understatement, and now you can play the iconic first version in remastered form for free on Apple Arcade!
Final Fantasy+ is based on the original Final Fantasy for the Nintendo Entertainment System, released back in 1987. So named because (as urban legend goes) it was believed to be potentially the last game the team would work on. will be released someday. In the original Final Fantasy, you take on the role of the Four Warriors of Light as they try to return the Elemental Crystals to their original state and, of course, save the world. I have no doubt that this will be an extremely popular addition to the Apple Arcade library, given how enduring the Final Fantasy franchise has been. Although, given that this is of course a remaster in some ways, I also fully expect there to be a lot of debate about its merits compared to the original. Although it’s worth noting that Final Fantasy already has many different versions, so I’m sure many will appreciate that it can stand on its own, font aside.
