Fortnite will soon allow Godzilla to stomp all over its map

The skyscraper-sized reptile king Godzilla will soon appear on the Fortnite battle royale map, as a sneak peek of gameplay released today shows.

We’ve known since December that Godzilla was set to star in this season – with a smaller version also coming as a skin as part of the current Battle Pass. But this is the first time we’ve seen him stomp around the map in actual gameplay.

It looks like ol’ Godzilla will be a giant roaming boss – similar to last year’s climactic battle with Doctor Doom, where all the players teamed up to defeat the Marvel villain. How this will work here remains to be seen.

In other Fortnite news, developer Epic Games has now made an official crossover with Hatsune Miku. The virtual pop star will be the face of the next season of Fortnite’s Festival music mode.

The next Music Pass will include a crossover version of Hatsune Miku for Fortnite, including a styling option reminiscent of the fan-favorite Brite Bomber skin, as well as various themed virtual instruments and other accessories. The classic Hatsune Miku skin will also be available for purchase separately.

As announced last week, the new season of Fortnite Festival will additionally add local co-op play on PlayStation and Xbox, recreating the feel of classic Rock Band and Guitar Hero sessions (albeit with fewer plastic extras).
