Hatsune Miku collaboration coming to Fortnite on Tuesday
Developer Epic Games announced the collaboration on Monday in a post on its official website. Fortnite blog. The collaboration between Hatsune Miku and the Fortnite Festival will begin on January 14th and run until April 8th. As part of the promotion, several Miku-themed items will appear in the Fortnite Store and in the Music Pass, a special Battle Pass for the Fortnite Festival.
Cosmetic items included in the Music Pass include two different Hatsune Miku outfits: the Neko Hatsune Miku outfit and the Brite Hatsune Miku style. Neko gives Mick adorable pink cat ears, while Brite’s style is inspired by the Brite Bomber and Fortnite Battle RoyaleSupply llama. The Music Pass can be purchased separately for 1,400 V-Bucks or through a Fortnite Crew subscription.
If you don’t want to level up the Battle Pass, other Miku-themed items can be purchased in bundles in the Item Shop. The main one will include Mika in her standard outfit, as well as other cosmetic items such as themed back bling and emotes. And the best part: “Miku” features a jam track by Anamanaguchi and Miku, so you can rock out to her anthem.
Since her first debut in 2007, electronic music artists from around the world have used the generated voice known as Hatsune Miku to allow her to perform their songs. The character grew into an internationally popular entertainer who toured the United States and performed at the Coachella festival. She has also inspired a couple of memes and viral internet trends, as well as collaborating with Pokémon and Magic: Gathering.
