Hatsune Miku is the poster child for Fortnite Festival Season 7, and maybe this collaboration will finally convince me to become a rock star.
The Fortnite Festival launches Season 7 on January 14, and Epic Games has announced that it will be headlined by virtual pop sensation Hatsune Miku. As someone who has actively avoided most things Fortnite, I hate to admit that this may be something that lures me in like a siren song, but it was only a matter of time before it finally hooked me.
Throughout the season, you’ll be able to unlock a variety of Hatsune Miku-related rewards through the Music Pass, such as a Miku outfit, themed instruments, and several jam tracks. Although some of them are blocked by a paid premium pass. If you already have this pass unlocked, you will immediately be rewarded with the Neko Hatsune Miku outfit and can work your way to the Brite Hatsune Miku Style skin and M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOT! Jam Track is accessible near the end of the pass.
The skins, combined with the corresponding tools that you can take on stage with you, are enough to justify the 1,400 V-Bucks cost to me, which I hate to admit. You can’t ask for more from cooperation, so everything else is perceived as a bonus. Plus, each tool has a very sweet leek scent that I especially adore.
But if you don’t want to pay for the pass up front, the rewards will likely appear in the store later. I’m just relieved that if I don’t take the opportunity to become a beast at the Fortnite festival now, I’ll still have a chance to calm my Miku obsession later. There will also be a few Hatsune Miku rewards available in the store in case the pass rewards aren’t enough. During the season you will be able to get the following:
- Hatsune Miku Outfit
- Back decoration Pack-sune Miku
- Live Miku Emote
- Emote Miku Miku Lucha
- Miku’s light trail
- Microphone Hatsune
- Miku beat drums
- Jam track “Miku” Anamanaguchi, Hatsune Miku
But Hatsune Miku isn’t the only benefit of the season: version 33.20 comes with a few extra features. Four new combat modes are being added, so you can get an extra level of challenges to test your skills with certain tools. “Lead Only”, “Drums Only”, “Vocals Only” and “Bass Only” are four game modes designed to allow you to compete with others on a more equal footing rather than with the support of a band, but these modes can also be a great way to practice. if you are only confident in limited tools.
Season 7 of the Fortnite Festival will end on April 8th, so you’ll have plenty of time to practice and perfect your Hatsune Miku Jam tracks and cash in any Music Pass rewards you can before then. I’m more than willing to accept the fact that this is what will truly lead me to the Fortnite Festival. I just hope I don’t crash as soon as I get on stage and feel too awkward to play again after investing everything in my wallet on cute skins.
