Too often when we hear about the concept of games for good and the like, we rarely ever hear the follow-up to exactly how that good was done. But luckily today is not that day, as Treesplease, the brains behind their debut release Longleaf Valley, have announced that their initiative has resulted in the planting of over two million real trees.
Treesplease has achieved this through a partnership with the Eden Reforestation Project, and the work is reported to emit around 42,000 tonnes of CO2! Meanwhile, the developer is kicking off 2025 with a new vegan event inspired by the official vegan cookbook.
Whether you’re vegan, dabble, or think it’s all bullshit, you’ll still want to log in during this event for a chance to try out new in-game content inspired by a New Year’s resolution and a chance to snag an adorable baby . rewards in the form of animals.

It seems to have been a good year for Treesplease as they also announced that their CEO and founder Laura Carter received the Global Gaming Citizen award at the Game Awards 2024 for her work in the fight against climate change. Longleaf Valley also won the Playing of the Planet Awards for Best Purposeful Game in 2024!
I would definitely say that Treesplease must have found a winner with their Play it, Plant It model. I think there are a lot of people in the gaming industry who love the idea of contributing to a good cause while having fun, and by being able to do that, the guys at Treesplease have made a significant contribution.
