Dress to Impress developers say the game won’t be coming to Fortnite

The quote appeared to be a reference to the popular dress-up game, leading some to speculate that it meant an official game was coming to the platform.
Matthew Behan, CEO of Team Hive, told Polygon via email that the teaser was for a game now called Fashion show for which the studio is developing Fortnite using the Unreal editor.
“This is not a fan-made game,” Behan said. “Our fashion show will have a completely different name. This game has been in development since mid-2023 after we were approached by a popular fashion brand to integrate it into our popular game Fortnite. Most of our current games are shooters, so we needed a solution that could seamlessly integrate fashion products from the brands’ offerings.”
Behan said that the use of the phrase “dress your best to impress” in the teaser was deliberately separated from “dress to impress” to avoid misleading players.
Originally released in 2023, Dress to impress is a competitive dress-up game hosted on the Roblox gaming platform. The game’s popularity has skyrocketed in the past year, and its Roblox page states that at the time of publication there were over 5.5 billion total player logins. Dress up games have been popular on the Roblox platform for many years.
