The sequel to the multiplayer ski game Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders will be released next week
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, the ski sequel to the acclaimed cycling game Lonely Mountains: Downhill from developer Megagon Industries, now has a release date and will be released on Xbox, PC and Game Pass next Tuesday, January 21st.
As with 2019’s Lonely Mountains: Downhill, Snow Riders is all about traveling from the top to the bottom of these gorgeous low-poly peaks as stylishly and quickly as possible – even though these mountains are now glaciated and covered in a thick layer of ice. snow.
Snow Riders’ carefully crafted mountains, as usual, feature plenty of cleverly hidden shortcuts to seek out to save precious seconds on your descent time, and there’s also a new trick system. But the big difference is the advent of online multiplayer, turning what was once a sometimes serene solitary experience into a much more chaotic experience.
Of course, single player play is still available, but it adds team co-op where players share their limited checkpoints, as well as competitive racing. And that’s on top of the challenges to complete, as well as the new gear, equipment, and tricks that can be unlocked along the way.
Lonely Mountains: Downhill was a real treat (Chris Tapsell called it “magical” when it made Eurogamer’s best games of 2019), and the recent Snow Riders demo on Steam suggests Megagon Industries has another winner on its hands. Everything will be known when the game releases on Xbox, Steam and Game Pass in exactly a week, on January 21st.
