Vampire dark fantasy RPG The Witcher 3 The Blood of the Dawnwalker has received its first trailer
It’s been almost exactly a year since the unveiling of Dawnwalker, a new dark fantasy RPG from Rebel Wolves. And if you’ve been wanting to know more – which would be understandable, given that the studio includes several former CD Projekt employees, including Witcher 3 game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz – today is your lucky day. Publisher Namco Bandai debuted the world of Dawnwalker in a four-minute cinematic trailer.
Rebel Wolves’ debut game is now officially called The Blood of Dawnwalker and is described as the first chapter of an “all-new role-playing saga.” It’s an open-world, single-player game with a “strong emphasis on story and storytelling” in which players play as Koen, “a young man turned Dawnwalker, forever walking the line between the world of day and the realm of night.”
It’s all set in 14th century Europe, still reeling from the Black Death – a “moment of weakness” for a decimated humanity that gives the world’s long-hidden vampires the opportunity to emerge and seize control, with other creatures of the night to follow. lead. “Legends become reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.”
There aren’t a lot of additional details at this time, but Bandai Namco says players will have to use their skills, combining “vampiric strength with human determination” as they set out on a quest to save those they love. “Fight your enemies—be they humans, monsters, or the ticking clock itself,” the publisher concludes. “But remember: true evil can bask in the sun, and the most trusted allies can hide under the cover of darkness.”
Previously, Rebel Wolves CEO Tomaszkiewicz, who was also a minor director on Cyberpunk 2077 while at CD Projekt, suggested that Blood of the Dawn Walker wouldn’t be “as gigantic as The Witcher” (instead, it would be about the same as in ” The Witcher 3″). addition “Blood and Wine”), but may well have a “large” number of quests. It’s unknown if anything has changed since then, but today’s cinematic trailer ends with the promise that more information will be released this “summer.”
Along with Tomaszkiewicz, Rebel Wolves counts former CD Projekt writer Jakub Szamalek as its narrative director and head writer, while other team members include design director Daniel Sadowski, animation director Tamara Zawada, art director Bartolomej Haveł, finance director Mihał Borica and studio head Robert Murzynowski, who worked together on games such as Cyberpunk, Thronebreaker, Shadow Warrior 2 and The Witcher series.
