The next zombie map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is called The Tomb and immerses players in ancient catacombs.

As Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 prepares to release its second season on January 28, developer Treyarch has shared initial details of the next Zombies mode map, The Tomb, which takes players deep underground into ancient catacombs.

“Rumor has it,” explains Treyarch in a post on the Call of Duty website, “that a British archaeologist named Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe excavated the site back in 1908 with high expectations. Continuing the events of the Citadel of Death – the third Black Ops 6 Zombies map introduced in the first season – Weaver, Gray, Carver and Maya can be seen in the Tomb, who, after the last words of Gabriel Krafft, turn to the nearest dig site, continuing their search. Treyarch says The Tomb was designed to offer an experience similar to the Liberty Falls map in Zombies mode, with tighter play spaces and an emphasis on replayability. It also promises “lots” of Easter eggs and reimagined Wonder Weapons inspired by the series’ past. More specific gameplay details will be revealed closer to The Tomb’s release, but in the meantime, the studio has revealed a number of other additions coming to Zombies mode in Season 2.

These include the much-requested co-op pause feature, which, as the name suggests, allows the group leader to pause the game mid-game, as long as everyone is in the same group. This is in addition to gear restoration for players who rejoin a session after being kicked out while AFK, as well as a number of improvements to the challenge and near completion tracking system, as well as the ability to customize separate HUD presets for zombies and multiplayer modes.

According to Treyarch, Black Ops 6 players have already accumulated 480 million hours in Zombies mode since its launch last October, and the Focused mode introduced a month later has helped raise the average completion rate for main quests from 3.38 percent. to 8.23 ​​percent. “This still means that over 90 percent of people who have played Zombies have not yet completed the main quest, so our mission continues,” it notes, “but we are proud of these initial results and excited to welcome so many new players in line with this new feature.
