What’s new in Honkai: Star Rail version 3.0?

Honkai: Star RailwayVersion 3.0 is here, and while the patch contains the usual goodies—like new characters, light cones, and events—there are plenty of quality-of-life features in the patch that could be easy to miss.

Notable new features include the addition of a Memories path, special tools to help you develop and strengthen your characters, and new items that let you specify some of the benefits of your relics.

Below we list all the biggest new features and changes that are part of Honkai: Star Railwayupdate 3.0.

Yes, a completely new area to explore: Amphoraea.

The biggest part of this update is the addition of a completely new area to explore, accompanied by a solid story. Amphoraeus is the next stop on the Astral Express journey, and with it comes new maps, new characters, and new puzzles to solve. The new area has plenty of the usual content, including new treasure chests, new side quests, and new collectibles called nymphs to find.

The path of memory is real

Yes, “Memory” is no longer just a path in the Simulation Universe, there are now “Memory” characters in the game. Pathfinder will receive a Remembrance form as the story completes, and Aglaya will debut as a Lightning Remembrance character available through the gacha (more characters to come later).

At the same time, there are new light cones for Flashback characters, as well as new cups for distributing Flashback materials.

Trailblaze’s maximum power limit has increased to 300.

Now you can relax a little more when it comes to spending your pioneer power before it goes over the limit. Those who want to become majority efficient when it comes to using their stamina, you’ll be happy to know that it now takes a full 30 hours to reach the Trailblaze’s power cap from scratch.

You can now personalize heirlooms with Wishful Resin.

A new form of resin has entered the fray. Wishful Resin allows you to specify what additional stats you want in your relics so you can customize them further without praying to the RNG gods. You can customize up to two stat lines, however you can only customize relics that can be used with self-modeling resin.

You can get Wishful Resin through the synth by trading one Self-Modeling Resin or 800 Relic Remains for one. Wishful Resin is also included as a reward for the Nameless Honor Battle Pass and as an option in some paid bundles in the store.

You can also re-roll your relics using variable dice.

If you’re like me, you’ve flipped through hundreds of relics looking for shatter effects or crit/damage lines, but all the points go toward health or defense. If you still have these relics, you can now use the Variable Dice item to re-roll these relics. Of course, there’s a chance he’ll fall back into HP and defense, but hey, a free retry is a free retry.

You can make Variable Dice by donating three Self-Modeling Resin and earning one by using the paid Battle Pass “Nameless Honor”.

There is now a treasure gadget to help you search for those pesky chests.

If you’re missing treasure chests on maps and don’t want to figure out which one you’re missing, you can now use a gadget to indicate which chests you still need to find. There’s a catch here: you’ll need to unlock each area’s corresponding gadget by earning in-planet currency (Clock Credits, Strale, etc.), so you won’t be able to buy and use it right away.

Get help creating your characters by letting the game do it for you.

If you’ve collected tons of relics and are at a loss when it comes to equipping them, you can use the smart equip feature to select the best relics for your character. You’ll be able to choose relics based on what the game developers choose or what players use. You can also specify which Relic Sets you want to equip the selected character.

However, there are some things to keep in mind. If you’re targeting a specific speed setting or other specific set of characteristics, you’ll need to keep an eye on these stats yourself.

Track your character’s growth using the in-game zoom feature.

A new button has appeared on your character screen in the upper right corner that says “Levelling Guide.” It works the same way as Genshin Impactleveling guide as it will point out parts of your characters that may need more materials. The system is not idealbut it should help you keep track of what you should be spending your Trailblaze Power on.

Farming stages will always be available.

Previously, new players were unable to farm materials from areas of the game they didn’t already have access to due to story progression. However, after this update, you can now farm stages from any area, even if you haven’t gotten that far yet.
