Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League released in February to average reviews and lukewarm commercial reception. Head of Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav called the game “disappointing”, saying Rocksteady’s game was partly responsible for a “$200 million impact” on the company’s gaming division’s revenue. The game’s DLC reception hasn’t been much better. Suicide Squad has since been given away and received a big discount.

Rocksteady’s take on Suicide Squad was a lightning rod for controversy based on its tone, penchant for games as a service, and treatment of Arkhamverse heroes such as Batman. But after the dramatic murder of people like Superman, Flash and Green Lantern, Kill the Justice League began to return his once-dead heroes, dragging them from various Other worlds. Some storylines are still unresolved, but perhaps the fourth and final season will give players the closure they need.
