Mal will be the next League of Legends champion and she will be heading home to Noxus.

This is Ian. 9, League of Legends will be receiving a Noxian-themed makeover to celebrate the new model’s first season. On Tuesday, Riot Games released a cinematic trailer showcasing some new lore surrounding the first season, titled “Welcome to Noxus.” “Black Rose” is going to a mysterious ball full of tricks and murders. Meanwhile, Mel goes to the Immortal Bastion after the events Secreta Netflix adaptation that just wrapped its final season.

On Wednesday, Riot released more details about the new season in a developer diary video. Mal will be the next champion of the game, and she will use some of the powerful magic she demonstrated in Secret to protect your allies in Summoner’s Rift.

Mal, the Reflection of the Soul, wears a set of red and black threads in the Noxian style. Its set is based on reflecting projectiles. While champions like Yasuo and Nila could block or absorb projectiles, Mel could use Denial to send targeted abilities back to their original caster and non-targeted abilities back to the enemy.

Chalk will be unlockable for free through seasonal missions, and Riot will reveal more about her past in a new novel called Ambessa: The Wolf’s Chosenwhich will delve into the relationships between Ambessa, Mel and Noxus.

We’ll see more storytelling emerge over the course of Welcome to Noxus. Arena, a popular game mode, will return as the Pits of Reckoning of Noxus, where gladiators battle for fame and fortune. There will also be a new mini-game and out-of-game media such as animated comics. We can also expect visual updates to LeBlanc and another champion – possibly Vladimir, as he appears at the end of the Welcome to Noxus video.
