Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition, the latest mobile port of the popular open-world multiplayer survival game, has surpassed three million downloads. Besides being a good number in itself, it’s also very positive for the guys at Snail Games, Grove Street and Studio Wildcard, as it represents a 100% increase from the previous Ark mobile release.

For those unfamiliar, Ark: Survival Evolved is, as you’d expect, an open-world multiplayer survival experience set on an island inhabited by prehistoric dinosaurs. You will need to collect resources, create weapons and build a base in order to survive not only for the inhabitants of the island, but also for other players.

With the release of Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition, the aforementioned developers have replaced the previous, somewhat simplified version with an all-new version that boasts better graphics and optimization. This includes a roadmap of popular maps coming to the game later, courtesy of Grove Street Games.

Everyone walks like dinosaurs

It’s strange to think how far we’ve come in just under half a decade. The original Ark on mobile seemed to stagnate a bit and seemed to lack the long-term support needed to support anything in the genre. But I’m pleasantly surprised to see Grove Street score some real wins after the GTA Definitive Trilogy disaster by helping with this latest installment.

If I had to argue, I would say that the fact that the hardware capabilities And the optimization went so far that it likely contributed to the popularity of Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition. But now it’s worth seeing how long this will last and whether they can maintain this success in the long term.
