Metal Gear Solid Delta Has No Release Date, But Has Funko Pops
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater merch is coming out, although we still don’t have a release date for the game itself.
Konami’s upcoming remake was first announced back in May 2023 and will retain the story of the 2004 original. The story follows Naked Snake as he takes part in an operation deep in the Soviet jungle, approximately 31 years before the events of Metal Gear.
Around this time last year, PlayStation suggested that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater would release at some point in 2024. However, this clearly did not happen. There are two weeks left until 2025, and the release date still remains unknown. But instead of a game date, we have a release date… Funko Pops. Hooray?
The Funko Pops in question are modeled after the two main characters of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – Naked Snake and The Boss.
The Naked Snake figurine holds a combat knife in his hands. “This seasoned soldier is sure to prove an invaluable asset to your POP line! Games,” reads the Amazon description.
Meanwhile, The Boss wields his signature Patriot weapon and will also “prove himself an invaluable asset to your POP line!” Games”.
According to Amazon’s sale page, these Funko Pops will be available on March 25th, at least in America (thanks to DisTrackers). So, could we see a release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater around then? Well, we’ll let you know as soon as Konami lifts the lid on the game’s launch.
Last year, series producer Noriaki Okamura stated that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was being remade because Konami believed that the “younger generation” was now unfamiliar with the series.
Also, did you know that Eve from Metal Gear Solid 3 was actually voiced by the same actor who played Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
